“I Ain’t Going Away!” Alan Jones Bids Farewell To Sky News

Last night, Conservative commentator Alan Jones hosted his final show on Sky News, bidding farewell to the network but not goodbye to viewers.

Jones announced his departure from the network yesterday via Facebook. The commentator cited contract disagreements as the reason he was leaving the network.

According to Jones, he was not offered another position at Sky News. Instead, he was offered a weekly slot on Flash, Foxtel’s new streaming service, which he declined.

According, to news.com.au, Jones’ final words on the programme were “Thank you to all the Sky News people behind the scenes who have helped. Remember, you can still find me on my Facebook page!

“I ain’t going away. Search Alan Jones Australia. Good night, and good health.”

Of course Jones’ choice of words “I ain’t going away,” could perhaps hint that Jones may return to radio.

Jones was at the 2GB network for decades where he shared his opinions on everything from politics to pop culture and made his fair share of headlines over the years. He was a right-wing commentator that always fared well in radio ratings.

Jones has since been replaced by Ben Fordham, who, while he had a slow start, has since found himself at the top of the radio ratings.

Although Jones squashed rumours of a return to radio earlier this year on the Kyle & Jackie O Show, this was before his contract with Sky News fell through. Of course, Jones may just choose to focus on his very active Facebook account that has over 150,000 followers.

Time will tell, but one thing is certain Jones is a force to be reckoned with!
