Facebook Temporarily Crashes And The Planet Loses Its Mind

Facebook’s mobile and desktop website temporarily went down last night and the Internet went crazy. This is the second outage for the company in less than a week.

Facebook users were greeted with the message “Sorry, something went wrong. We’re working on it and we’ll get it fixed as soon as we can.” The crash lasted between 10 and 45 minutes, though everything is fine now.

B&T contacted Facebook Australia for comment on this story.

The hashtag #facebookdown is still trending on Twitter because people can’t live in a world without Facebook. Here are some of B&T‘s favourite responses:

Stock market blog The Street estimated Facebook loses an estimated $1.7 million in advertising-centric revenue for every hour the website and app are not working.
