Beaten Sharapova wins hearts of Tweeters

Despite her loss to Li Na yesterday, Maria Sharapova led the social leaderboard on day 11 of the Australian Open, receiving the most tweets of any player.

Through the course of the day Sharapova won a total of 62,731 tweets with 73% positive sentiment.

The social conversation peaked at 3:19pm, just after the match was completed with a massive 8161 tweets at that time.

Li Na will now play top seed and defending champion Victoria Azarenka in the final.
