Crown Melbourne’s marketing boss has been lured to head up the marketing functions at Sydney’s ANZ Stadium.
Melinda Madigan, who has a wealth of experience in sports marketing including a year as executive general manager of brands at the Turf Club, will start the new role on February 25.
Her current position as general manager of marketing and brands is a contract position according to her LinkedIn profile, with responsibility for the master brand strategy.
The ANZ is currently gearing up for its biggest year since the 2000 Olympics, which includes two visits from Manchester United, two State of Origin tests, and the British and Irish Lions test against the Wallabies.
Commercial director, Tony Partridge, said: "With extensive marketing experience in the sport, venue and entertainment sector, Melinda is the perfect person to help ANZ Stadium achieve its vision for the customer experience at Sydney's major events.
“Melinda will also oversee an immediate redevelopment of the Stadium's digital assets to improve service to Stadium members, corporate partners and hospitality clients."
Madigan added: "I look forward to joining the ANZ Stadium team in this historic year, featuring some of the biggest and best sporting events in the country, and to working with key stakeholders to drive current and future marketing initiatives."
At the Turf Club she helped launch the $35 million Grand Pavilion at Rosehill Gardens, marketing of the Golden Slipper Festival, development of the BMW Sydney Carnival and its partnership with Destination NSW.
